New requirements
- Solo-regulated firms no longer need to upload a CV, simplifying the employment history section. They are now required to input 10 years of employment history, consistent with other FCA applications.
- For dual regulated firms, the employment history requirement has also been extended to 10 years, however it is still necessary to upload a CV due to the complexity of the applications which require a full range of information for effective candidate assessment.
- Based on the information being provided, the FCA may seek additional information, such as rights to work in the UK, previous names displayed on the Register, candidate time spent on activities, and spread across directorships.
Further adjustments to improve functionality and efficiency
- Removal of the 'Send later' function to ensure that the FCA has everything they need to assess the application from the start.
- The Statement of Responsibilities (SOR) is integrated into Form A so there is no need to complete a second application for this.
- Improved virus scanning on attachments for added security.
- A helpful checklist of information needed for the completion of the application ahead of starting it.
- Improved layout with easier navigation and guidance throughout.
The new Form A is now accessible for all standalone Form A applications. When Form A is submitted as part of an application, for example when applying for authorisation for the first time, seeking a variation of permission, or adding or amending appointed representatives, the form will be updated gradually. Before starting the application, ensure that all information has been gathered and use the checklist.
