Anna joined Buzzacott in 2021 and is a Supervisor in our Tax Investigations and Dispute Resolution team.
She works with different types of clients, ranging from high-net-worth individuals with complex requirements, to people and businesses with much more simple tax affairs.
Anna assists with complex fraud enquiries, such as those that fall within HMRC’s Code Of Practice 9 (COP9) regime. She also deals with a wide variety of enquiries and compliance checks, including tax avoidance and national minimum wage investigations. Anna has done extensive work on cases involving offshore irregularities, which often involve making voluntary disclosures of undeclared offshore income/gains via the Worldwide Disclosure Facility (WDF).
Anna has also assisted a number of landlords in bringing their tax affairs up to date, often through the Let Property Campaign (LPC), or for more serious disclosures involving deliberate behaviour, the COP9 process.
It is very common for clients to be dealing with an ongoing tax investigation while also facing difficult personal circumstances. Using her specialist knowledge of HMRC’s powers and her empathetic approach, she ensures different situations are dealt with sensitively, minimising stress for her clients.
Across Buzzacott, Anna works closely with our Expatriate Tax Services team to correct any UK tax irregularities that have arisen for individuals that have migrated to the UK. She’s also an ambassador to our Private Client team, working to continuously improve our collaborative approach across the firm.
Anna is ATT exam qualified and is working towards a CTA qualification.
Outside of work, Anna enjoys tennis, and attending theatre and live music events.
