Antony joined Buzzacott in 2019 and is an Associate Director in our Tax Investigations and Dispute Resolutions team.
Antony originally trained to be a lawyer before moving into the tax industry; starting his tax career at a firm specialising in tax planning solutions for small businesses. After qualifying as a Chartered Tax Adviser in 2015, he joined a top 50 firm of accountants, where he gained experience of compliance work and advised individuals, companies and trusts on a range of tax matters. In this role, Antony was heavily involved with clients seeking voluntary settlement of historic inaccuracies and also dealt routinely with compliance checks and investigations.
This led him to join Buzzacott, where he now works on a wide range of tax investigations, from straightforward enquiries to complex fraud investigations. He also oversees disclosures made using the digital disclosure service, such as those involving foreign income or rental profits, and those requiring more detailed submissions such as PAYE disclosures.
Outside of the office, Antony enjoys travelling and trying new foods.

After receiving a letter from HMRC stating I was under investigation regarding a previous tax year, I became quite concerned and nervous. I was worried it would consume my life for the next few years, and that I would waste a lot of time trying to deal with this, alongside trying to run my businesses and manage investments in a challenging economy. The investigation came at a really tough time for me.
I spoke to Antony who was extremely knowledgeable, and got the investigation resolved very quickly. He was also a calming presence for me when it was needed. If you go with the Tax Investigations team at Buzzacott you are in very good hands – they know what they are doing.
