Daniel Iles - Manager

Daniel joined Buzzacott in 2020 and is a Manager in our Private Client team. He works with a variety of clients, including trustees, sole traders, and high-net-worth individuals, supporting them to meet their tax and compliance requirements.  

Daniel provides tailored advice to help clients manage their taxes efficiently, assisting with activities such as self-assessment tax returns for individuals and trusts, 60-day property Capital Gains Tax returns, Inheritance Tax accounts and returns for estates and trusts, the tax implications of an individual’s residence and domicile position, and pre-UK arrival asset structuring.

Daniel’s specialist area of expertise is in trusts, including both UK and offshore trusts. Trust structures are often complex and tend to have different tax treatments across jurisdictions. Bringing his expertise to bear, Daniel helps our clients to understand the UK tax implications for both UK and offshore trusts, of settling trusts, benefitting from trusts, and the winding up of trusts.  

Daniel works collaboratively with many of our other teams across Buzzacott, including our Corporate Tax team to handle the returns for companies that need to file Annual Tax on Enveloped Dwellings (ATED) returns, the Tax Investigations team to help with HMRC enquiries into clients and the Expatriate Tax team to support UK resident US citizen beneficiaries of worldwide trusts.  

Daniel is ATT and CTA qualified, having been awarded the Ronald Ison medal for highest score in the Individual’s Advanced Technical Exam. 

Outside of work, Daniel is a keen sportsman with a particular interest in football, golf, and running.
