James is a qualified Chartered Tax Adviser and advises on complex tax planning including business structures, profit extraction to the owners and the availability of tax reliefs on certain transactions or expenses.

On the personal tax side, James regularly assists new partners joining a partnership either from employment or as a lateral hire. He also provides advice on the availability of Entrepreneurs’ Relief on a business disposal and maximising available tax reliefs such as pension contributions and exit planning for departing partners and their plans for the future. James’ portfolio includes several large professional practices where he manages the preparation of self-assessment tax returns for all of the partners and the firms themselves.
James works closely with our Private Client Team to ensure that both business and personal tax implications are considered; and also our Financial Planning Team to assist with any investment opportunities.
