James Wood - Associate Director

James joined Buzzacott in 2021 and is an Associate Director in our Corporate Finance team.

He works with private equity houses, corporations, and banks, performing financial due diligence on target businesses and offering specialist transaction advice. James excels in negotiations with target businesses and their advisors, leveraging his extensive experience in transaction services and accounting to secure the best possible deals for his clients.

James has a diverse sector background, having worked with professional services, SaaS and tech companies, healthcare, consumer products, and primarily focuses on owner-managed businesses valued between £10 million and £100 million. He is adept at anticipating and adapting to the unique challenges of various industries, addressing core issues in each deal he handles. His expertise extends to lead advisory, and he regularly assists the M&A team with sell-side projects.

Before joining Buzzacott, James trained for his ACA at Roffe Swayne (now Azets) and subsequently joined their corporate finance department where he developed his extensive experience with both buy-side and sell-side transactions.

James's outstanding client outcomes have earned him a nomination for the Emerging Dealmaker of the Year award at the upcoming Insider South East Dealmakers Awards 2023.

Outside of work, James enjoys staying active and is an avid golfer.
