Matt joined Buzzacott in 2015 and is Partner and Head of our Corporate Finance team.

The team advise institutions and entrepreneurial businesses in the £10m to £100m transactional value range and specialises in:

• Series A fundraisings
• Disposals, particularly to overseas buyers
• Financial diligence for both UK VC’s and overseas acquirers
• Management buy outs raising funds from UK banks and private equity houses
• Employee ownership
• Succession planning
• Valuations

Matt founded and leads our Corporate Finance team of 18, comprising our M&A, Transaction Services and Valuation specialisms.

As an M&A specialist himself, he has a strong track record of advising institutions and entrepreneurs across a broad range of transactions in the £10m to £100m value range.

Matt remains hands on in many of the transactions which the team advises on, for example including Emapsite’s disposal to Idox plc and Dufrain’s acquisition by Phoenix Private Equity as well as ensuring that the team continues to provide the highest level of service possible, to all of our clients.

Like the M&A team, Matt’s specialisms cover our six core sectors, Business services, Consumer, Financial services, Health, Real estate and Tech and media, with our deepest specialism in IP-rich service companies.

In M&A, Matt is supported by Meera Shah, Head of M&A Advisory team and in turn Matt supports Alex Judd, Head of Transaction Services and David Stears, Head of Valuations.
