Matthew Baldock - Director

Matthew joined Buzzacott in 2018 and is a Tax Director in our Corporate & Business Services team.

Working mainly with corporates and LLPs in the financial services sector, Matthew assists clients with:

• incentivising key personnel and remuneration planning,
• UK and international business restructuring,
• transfer pricing policies,
• UK and international business structuring,
• corporate residency and permanent establishment risk management,
• investing versus trading reviews,
• investment manager exemption reviews,
• corporation and partnership taxation, and
• the UK’s disguised investment management fee, income-based carried interest and capital gains carried interest rules

Having worked in a regional practice previously, Matthew has over 15 years’ experience advising on a wide range of tax areas affecting both the owner managers and their businesses.

Although his core work is tax compliance, his team also offer clients a wide variety of services and advice including, basis period reform, mixed member and salaried partner rules, and business reorganisations and restructures.

Matthew works closely with Buzzacott’s Audit, FCA Regulated Businesses and Outsourced bookkeeping and accounting services Teams, as well as our Private Client Team when clients require additional expert advice.

Matthew is a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales (ICAEW) and a Member of the Chartered Institute of Taxation (CIOT).

Away from the office he enjoys football and golf, as well as socialising with family and friends.
