Rachael Kaye - Senior Manager

Rachael joined Buzzacott in 2012 and is a Senior Manager in our Expatriate Tax Services team.

She works with individuals who are US citizens or have US tax exposure through residence, property ownership, international partnerships, and/or investments. Rachael specialises in UK and US tax planning opportunities for new arrivals to the UK. 

The biggest risks for Rachael’s clients are double taxation and ‘surprise’ taxes, such as on foreign currency mortgage gains. With careful forward planning for clients, Rachael’s work means these taxes can either be mitigated or eradicated completely. 

Rachael and the team have a two-pronged approach when working with clients. They deal with clients’ annual tax compliance, making sure they file accurate returns in good time and that payment deadlines are met. They also provide ad-hoc advisory services so that clients can maximise their income with a minimal increase in their tax and tax compliance.

Rachael often collaborates with our Tax Investigations team. HMRC do make mistakes, especially in the complex world of expatriate tax. This can be extremely stressful for clients but by working with the Tax Investigations team Rachael can resolve issues quickly and competently, thereby minimising clients’ distress and disruption.

Rachael is ATT and EA qualified. Prior to joining Buzzacott she studied Archaeology and Anthropology at Murray Edwards College, Cambridge.

Away from her desk she enjoys keeping fit with a lot of walking.
