Sarah Stowe - Senior Manager

Sarah joined Buzzacott in 2019 and is a Senior Manager in our Expatriate Tax Services team.

She works with high net worth individuals with transatlantic issues, from US citizens who are now based in the UK, to UK individuals who receive a distribution from a US trust or estate. Sarah’s role is to help these clients understand their global tax position, ensuring all their compliance obligations are met and advise them on changes they could make to improve or simplify their situation.

Sarah assists her clients with their annual US and UK compliance needs, including US and UK individual tax returns and distributable/undistributable net income calculations for offshore trusts. She also helps clients with tax planning from both a US and UK perspective, whether the client is planning a new venture or simply wants to take a fresh look at their current affairs and structure.

Sarah specialises in the US taxation of offshore trusts including the advising upon tax efficient structuring and the annual compliance required by trustees and beneficiaries. She works collaboratively with Buzzacott’s Private Client, Corporate and Financial Planning teams, enabling her to provide clients with a bespoke service covering all of their tax needs.

Sarah started working in UK tax in 2011 and moved to be a US/UK dual handler from June 2012. She previously worked for EY and another London based US/UK tax specialist firm. She has a degree in Philosophy from the University of Bristol and is EA, ATT And CTA qualified.

Outside of work, Sarah enjoys pilates and is a keen half-marathon runner. Her favourite is the Great North Run which, as a proud North-Easterner, holds a special place in her heart.
