Shannon Marshall - Payroll Manager

Shannon joined Buzzacott in 2017 and is a Payroll Manager in our Business Services team. 

Shannon primarily serves clients in the financial and charitable sectors. She navigates challenges such as adapting to evolving HMRC legislation, ensuring compliance with rules, and maintaining client and employee satisfaction.

Specialising in payroll, Shannon excels in managing benefits payroll, BACS payments, P11Ds, PAYE Settlement Agreements, and Voluntary Disclosures. She is experienced in handling complex cases with HMRC to guarantee accuracy.

Shannon collaborates closely with the Benefits & Pension team, HR Consultancy team, and Outsourced Accounting teams, ensuring a seamless service through effective cross-collaboration.

With a background in English Literature from university, Shannon transitioned into payroll after graduation, initially managing outsourced school payrolls and engaging with teachers’ and LGPS pension schemes. Her experience extends to processing payroll both within the UK and across various jurisdictions.

The team she is part of was honoured with the Best Leading Payroll Services Team award at the Hedge Fund Awards and Shannon is a Chartered Institute of Payroll Professionals (CIPP) member.

She is also a frequent traveller, with a passion for exploring new places and cultures. She enjoys reading and is currently learning Italian.
