On 5 February we were delighted to host an event in support of Sarcoma UK with Dominic Ball from Leyton Orient Football Club, tying in with World Cancer Day on 4 February 2025.
Buzzacott sponsored Dom when he played for Ipswich Town FC and we welcomed the opportunity for him to share insights into his book, 'From Winning Teams to Broken Dreams', which is dedicated to his friend, Spencer McCall, who sadly died of Ewing’s sarcoma at the age of 26.
Sam Hackett, Healthcare Professional Engagement Lead at Sarcoma UK, spoke about her day-to-day experiences with people affected by sarcoma and how to identify the signs and symptoms early. Together with Dom, she shared experiences of the strength and resilience that they have witnessed with Spencer and others going through treatment, and inspired everyone in the room to donate generously to Sarcoma UK.
Peter Chapman commented “It was great to host this event with so many of our clients and contacts who were able to hear an open and honest account of Dom’s journey, from being part of the Watford and Spurs academies through to winning promotion to the Premier League with Ipswich Town last season. The work that Sarcoma UK does every day is fundamental to supporting those affected by sarcoma, and we are pleased to be able to play a part in helping to raise funds to support this work and the vital research needed to gain a better understanding of the disease and improve treatments.”
We were delighted to have the opportunity to sponsor yet another brilliant With Intelligence event at the end of February this year. It was our pleasure to be a key sponsor at this year's Eurohedge Awards 2024, one of the most prestigious hedge fund awards ceremonies in the calendar, with the best performing funds all vying for industry-wide recognition and celebration.
It was a particular highlight to see so many of our clients pick up awards on the night, and to have the opportunity to present three of the awards to the winners ourselves.
Congratulations to all of the winners and nominees and thank you to With Intelligence for hosting such a wonderful evening.
On 5 March, we hosted our annual Cheltenham preview evening and wine tasting at the Buzzacott offices in St. Pauls. This year we supported Pancreatic Cancer UK, and raised funds for our Buzzacott runners taking part in the London Landmarks Half Marathon in April. Congratulations to the winners of our raffle and good luck to all of the runners taking part in April.
We were extremely lucky for this unique evening to be hosted once again by Neil Phillips, also known as the Wine Tipster. Neil provided us with some great tips for the festival as well as some equally great wines. Joining him at centre stage were Ed Nicholson and Ed Gascoigne who provided their additional insight into the races, forms and top tips for the festival. We were even lucky enough to have a recorded message from Nicky Henderson himself.
The evening was a great success and a great opportunity for the team to connect with clients and contacts in our newly refurbished events space, 'The Dell'.
Our runners are still taking donations for the upcoming half marathon, if you would like to support them you can find more information below.
Finding out you have pancreatic cancer is shattering.
On 6 April, over twenty Buzzacott team members will be running the London Landmarks Half Marathon and raising vital funds for Pancreatic Cancer UK, in memory of Buzzacott family members David Fardell, Sue Hopson, and Joyce Sellick who were sadly taken from us by this terrible cancer.
Thanks to the work of Pancreatic Cancer UK’s dedicated team of researchers, a simple test to detect the cancer earlier is within reach. It just needs more funding.
If you are able to support, financial or otherwise, we would be extremely grateful!

We are delighted to announce our sponsorship of the HFC 'Kilometres for Kids Challenge'. In this challenge, HFC aim to run a collective 3,492km, representing the number of children affected by abuse who receive help from HFC (UK). The km’s will be racked up during training and will culminate in the Phoenix Rose half marathon, which takes place on 10 May 2025.
Help For Children raises much-needed funds to combat child maltreatment in multiple locations across the globe. Academic and social welfare experts from renowned universities and institutions provide consultation throughout the grant process. Funds raised in each HFC location are granted out locally within that community.
We are delighted to be sponsoring such a worthwhile charity event and look forward to cheering all the runners across the line.
