VAT and tax services for housing associations

VAT and tax services for housing associations

VAT is often the most significant tax cost for registered social landlords (RSLs). Much of the VAT incurred on purchases is irrecoverable, as it relates to key, VAT-exempt activities of renting affordable homes and in some cases providing care and welfare services. We can work with you to improve VAT recovery or reduce the VAT incurred on costs.

With pressure on RSLs to build properties with mixed purpose and different income streams, corporation tax and other taxes may need to be considered, particularly in relation to development projects with other parties.
